During the night and until late morning in the west, and early afternoon in the east, skies will be overcast with likely showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall that could be locally intense. The snow level will initially be around 2300 meters, rapidly dropping to about 1000 meters in the Julian Alps and around 1200 meters elsewhere. Conditions will then improve from the north with clear or partly cloudy skies. Along the coast, moderate southerly winds will blow during the night, followed in the morning by strong northerly winds over the mountains and plains, and later by strong Bora winds along the coast and eastern areas.
